Jem Finch.
*Jem is a young boy at the begining of the book, but as it goes on he matures and gets smarter and wiser. He's Scouts big brother and he always looks out for her. He tries to be like his dad, and tries to be and act grown up. He likes to get into trouble, and likes to explore things.
*Jem changes in the book when Dill sneaks away to the Finch's house and Jem tells on him even though he said he wouldn't, he did because he realized Dill's parents should know. Before he would of kept it a secret because he was a kid, but after he was more mature about it and he told. Jem was striving to reach adulthood through this change.
*Jems reaction to the trial was he was mad and shocked. He didn't expect them to say that Toms guilt.
